Growing up on Long Island meant there was tons of opportunity to get involved in the arts and community for Gabi. She began playing the violin when she was 8 years old and saxophone when she was 9. In the meantime, she was singing in county and state choirs while dancing and performing in community theaters. Her heavy involvement in the arts carried seamlessly over through college at the State University of New York at Oneonta, where she quickly immersed herself in the contemporary music industry and theater program. It was there that she studied under voice coach and actress, Colby Thomas, keyboardist, composer, and Spyro Gyra founding member, Jeremy Wall, and jazz musician and Music Department Chair, Robert Roman. The support of her professors and peers set a solid foundation for Gabi to jumpstart a career in the industry right out of college.
She spent her first summer after graduation in Barcelona, Spain, to perform and collaborate with entertainer and businessman, the “Golden Voice of Spain,” Lexter. It was here that she had her first musical residency at the Happy Rock Bar & Grill in Plaza Espanya while performing regularly at other clubs and popular restaurants such as Negro Rojo and Bestial Beach Club.
